American Data Exchange Volunteers for Tree Day
Strengthening "Green" Awareness and Corporate Social Responsibility
August 20, 2011 - American Data Exchange employees participated in the Tree Day at the Marikina Watershed, held last August 20. In support of the company's Environmental Management Systems and its ISO 17001 Certification, 61 employees from American Data Exchange volunteered to participate in the initiative.
The Marikina Watershed Rehabilitation consists of 4 municipalities located in Antipolo, San Mateo, Rodriguez and Tanay. It has an area of approximately 28,000 hectares, with estimated 20% remaining forest cover, or an equivalent of 5,600 hectares. This particular reforestation project will still need 6.7 million trees to be planted to reach their objective.

The employee volunteers bussed to the site, trekked 1.5 hours, identified stick markers in the area and replanted seedlings from polybags to the site's prepared holes prior to covering them with soil. They planted tree seedlings to help towards the objective of planting an additional 24% (9,520) hectares of forest cover to achieve a sustainable level of 54% cover.
The annual tree planting efforts of American Data Exchange, since 2009, was initially done in Caliraya, Laguna; in the La Mesa Nature Reserve and Eco Park in 2010; before joining in the Marikina Watershed Rehabilitation this year. The annual exercise brings sustainability and "green" awareness and Corporate Social responsibility "CSR" to a higher level within American Data Exchange and the ADEC Group of Companies.

Philippine Daily Inquirer
August 23, 2011 - Multinational pharmaceutical firm Zuellig Pharma is forming a joint venture with global knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) firm Adec Solutions to deliver sub-contracted back-office solutions to pharmaceutical companies around the world.
In a recent statement, these firms said the new company would be called Pharma KPO, to be owned equally by the two partners.
"The venture will cater to the global pharmaceutical and health-care sectors, providing them knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) and business process outsourcing (BPO) services," a joint statement from both companies said.
KPO typically refers to non-voice, complex knowledge-driven services, while BPO is more commonly associated with process-driven, voice-based customer care and transactional services.
"Pharma KPO will leverage ADEC Group's and Zuellig Pharma's commitment to their shareholders to proactively anticipate and capitalize on industry trends to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer experience," ADEC Group CEO James Donovan said.
"Our objective is to facilitate operational changes by streamlining costly and repetitive back office and support processes to enable clients to refocus on core strategic activities," he said.
"This venture enables us to take advantage of cost-driven business opportunities by providing innovative processes to support the highly competitive pharmaceutical industry," Donovan said.
ADEC marketing manager Richard de Castro said the new venture will take advantage of the Philippines' KPO capabilities, coupled with the high number of health-care professionals the country's schools churn out every year.

- off-site tree planting projects
- reducing AMDATEX 's carbon footprint through the use of LED lighting, inverter-type air-conditioning and other low-carbon technologies.
AMDATEX 's ISO 14001 accreditation underscores its commitment to embed corporate social responsibility into its core policies and to apply these learnings and business processes to its clients' sustainability challenges.
AMDATEX pursues third Certification, ISO 14001:2004 in regards to an Environmental Management System.
Philippines, May 11, 2009 -
As per American Data's (AMDATEX) commitment of continual improvement towards quality and customer satisfaction, which started back in 2005 with our year-on-year success to initiate the certification of a Quality Management System to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000, and then again in 2007 for ISO / IEC 27001:2005 in regards to an Information Security Management System (ISMS), AMDATEX has always recognized the importance of 'Customer Satisfaction'. The continuation of these efforts, are still shown now in 2009 towards the dedication to pursue ISO 14001:2004 Certification for an "Environmental Management System" (EMS) to have as another foundation element toward exceeding our clients' expectations and to also conform with any Compliance and/or Regulatory requirements. AMDATEX foresees to be ISO 14001:2004 Certified by November 2009.
About ISO 14001:2004
ISO 14001 was first published in 1996 and specifies the actual requirements for an Environmental Management System (EMS). The main thrust for its development came as a result of the Rio Summit on the Environment held in 1992.
ISO 14000 is a series of international standards on environmental management and provides an outline for the development of an Environmental Management System (EMS) along with a supporting audit program. ISO 14001 is often seen as the foundation stone standard of the ISO 14000 series and is the only ISO 14000 standard that can be certified by an external certification body.
This standard applies to any organization that wishes to:
- implement, maintain and improve an environmental management system.
- create confidence and conformance within its own stated environmental policy.
- ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
- seek certification of its environmental management system by an external third party organization.
- create a self-determination of conformance
American Data Exchange Corporation Achieves QMS Re-certification
Philippines, September 15-16, 2008 -
Once again, American Data Exchange Corporation achieves re-certification of its QMS based on ISO 9001:2000 for the Provision of Global Business Process Outsourcing Services.
With no non-conformities found, it was recommended the issuance of a new certificate good for another three-year cycle.
The audit performed by TUV SUD PSB Philippines, Inc. earned AMDATEX some positive remarks. In the closing meeting, the third party auditors emphasized the:
- Observable manifestation of Top Management commitment , resulting to a leadership by example thus ensuring the effective implementation of the Quality Management System
- Existence of automated quality systems and processes, fully functional as continuous improvement tools. Such applications include the EDMS (Electronic Document Management System), an internally-developed document and record control program and the AIMS (AMDATEX Issue Management System) where problems/concerns are raised, addressed and analyzed for corrective and preventive actions.
- Use of simple and advanced statistical methodologies/principles in the analysis of data to provide information for improved decision making.
Looking forward to our 4th Surveillance Audit next year!
AMDATEX BECOMES SAM-CERTIFIED
Manila, Philippines, October 23, 2006 -
Related news: BSA awards certificate of immunity to 133 qualified companies
The Business Software Alliance (BSA) is pleased to celebrate Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Week with IP Philippines and the rest of the IP Community by announcing the recipients for this year's SAM Advantage Certificate.
The Business Software Alliance (BSA), the foremost organization dedicated to promoting safe and legal digital world, announced that only 133 companies were certified under its SAM Advantage Program, a campaign that recognizes companies that have successfully implemented a software asset management (SAM) practice. They received a SAM Advantage Certificate which guarantees one year immunity from BSA- initiated enforcement actions.
The small number of companies that qualified for the SAM Advantage Certificate is a reflection of the need for more education and actions to raise awareness on SAM in the Philippines. "While we congratulate the 133 companies that qualified for the SAM Advantage Program, the small number compared to the thousands of business organizations operating in the Philippines is alarming. This is a hard fact that many companies remain complacent and ignorant about managing their software properly. They leave a lot of security risks including the possibility of using unlicensed software. Company officers should learn to be conscious of software installed on their computers and how they are used, as they will be the ones liable if their company I caught using pirated software," said Hwee Chong Ng, Chair of BSA Philippines Committee.
The BSA has been promoting SAM adoption to help companies take full advantage of their IT resources. "Software should be considered an investment which a company needs to properly plan for and manage. We have seen the ugly consequences of using unlicensed software such as virus attacks that could destroy important data, possibility of legal actions that could result in imprisonment or hefty fines, and the embarrassment it brings to the companies," said NG.
Law enforcement agencies such as the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) have already raided many companies for violating Philippines' copyright laws. Under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, officers of companies caught using pirated software may face up to nine years of imprisonment and a fine up to 1.5 million pesos.
The result of the SAM Advantage Program revealed that although the 133 certified companies came from various industries such as business process outsourcing, construction/engineering and manufacturing, the percentage is very low amongst the total number of companies in their respective industries. While most of the participating companies belong to the manufacturing sector, there is little participation from big industries such as banking/finance, telecommunications, and call centers.
"Companies should recognize that the software they utilize in their business operation is an important tool which increases productivity. We would like to see more companies getting certified for proper software management. We hope that the 133 companies we've certified will serve as role models to their respective industries," said Ng.
Almost All businesses have become reliant on computer software for their growth and productivity. Through proper SAM practice, companies will be able to take full control of their software and avoid installation of unlicensed software. The SAM process involves a set of policies that includes assessing and auditing of software use, setting side a budget for software procurement and issuing a company policy on use of software.
Resources and tools on SAM implementation are available on the BSA website, www.bsa.org/philippines.
